Hi all,
Just wondering if my car will look good on 17" wheels keeping the standard suspension setup as i have a baby on the way and dont want the ride to be too hard. Im wondering if there will be a large gap between wheel and arch or will it need lowering a bit.
cheers for any help at all.
Peanut.

personally i wouldnt as the car will look raised and the small tyre will exentuate the arch gap

Don't, 15" five spoke are best without affecting / changing suspension - they look good with 55 profile rubber. Also with 17" you would also have to check width (rubber) as you will probably get some rubbing at full lock - this will be more of a problem than touching arches. The other problem is the rolling circumference - this can affect your speedo - can appear minor, but traffic cop would have a field day !! Then there is your insurance company...we all know why, but they will see it as a means to increase your premium and I'm not talking a couple of quid...

well the 5 spokle is a matter of opinion and if you run 55 profile then your stedo will read low so if the speedo says 70 you wight be doing 75 and also 50/15`s are cheeper but imho the 45/15`s are the best

195/45/15v bridgestone re720`s on a 7x15 oz tucano rim

plus on the 50/15`s you cant really go below -60mm drop at the front but on the 45`s im at about -90 with no rubbing ion stock arches

I stand corrected sir...you are right. By the way, where did you get the silver lenses on the rear - can you get blue from the same place ??

there the hella crystal lenses with leds for sidelights i dont think theres a blue lense for the mk5 but you could prolly fit mk4 lenses and rewire them. the only visual diference is that the indicator is vertical
