Hate your

long whippy std aerial

Fed up with Chavs nicking you alloy one

Don't want a dummy BMUU Shark Fin

Well this little stubby could really finish of the roof line

Image

Cos it won't stand out as an alloy one will it might last a little while longer on the roof.....

Bit of a rub as far as the price goes but on a single purchase basis they are £16.17 plus vat - I'm sure marytn at vag parts might be able to do a bit of deal on a multi purchase

I'm getting one anyway - just thought it suitable for a group buy?

I'd really like to get in on this GB, but...

I've got an alloy one which hasn't been taxed yet, so until it does go missing, its another group buy I've missed out on :(

But everyone else with a standard aerial - get one of these 8) it makes a difference!

BTW as regards radio reception, my Richbrook item is as good as the previous aerial. This OE item is slightly shorter than that, but should work just fine - I'm sure bstardchild will let us know!

EDIT: I voted "Love it", naturally :P

I wouldn't mind doing a rooftop arieal conversion on the Coupe, but I'm worried about removing the headlining and the possibility of buckling the roof. If I had more courage, I may have gone straight in and put my name down as a definite. Unless anyone is particularly skilled at rooftop arieal conversions and would be prepared to travel to Southport?

They/it are/is off a Sharon - yes you can get the bases but don't ask the price of the base it makes the following look good value brand new from VW

- Split rim BBS Alloys for a MKV GTI

- Full leather interior

So we are talking - HOW MUCH!!!!

What you need then Mr dubpolo sir is one of these:

Image

Approx £20 from Demon Tweeks - its a Richbrook alloy "anti-theft" aerial. Comes with a choice of threads to attach it to the Polo - IIRC the default one is the one to use so its a 30-second mod

All different colours too, yes including red! And if you want really short, you can use the spare aerial shaft supplied and cut it right down - but the normal one is plenty short enough for me, makes the standard aerial look like something off a bumper car! :D

Iwas looking at that stubby aerial when I went to Japan last year, it was £25 over there so I said stuff it, not paying £25 for an aerial no matter how good it may look, prefer my home made OEM stubby aerial!

Almost choked when the chap in the dealership told me...took me a few seconds to realise, converting yen to pounds sterling!

I had two of them and they were both stolen, you can still unscrew them I don't see how they are anti-theft? :(
