History: In short bought the car at 60k, apperently had its 60K service and cam belt change.  So I thought well they probably did a service and just put any oil in and forgot the cam belt.

The change. striped all the bits off and what do I see. A cam belt that is litrally a few miles off either slipping off or spliting! It was that bad that the roller/tensioner was knackered too  Caught it just in time 8)

Ordered a new tensioner/roller. Allready had tha cam belt in the garage. Had to wait because VW don't carry them in stock  It turned up, rushed back to the garage to find that...

it wasn't true, you could see where the machining went wrong. Instead of being a circle it was more like an egg shape. And there is me think that VW was one of the best for parts. First thing (outside of filters, belts) I order and its not fit to put on the car

Anyway had to wait again for the local VW garage to get another one in  which was fine this time 8) So car is back together and running on its new, not cheap bt beutiful oil 8) I can not discribe what a difference it has made. I posted a load of info about this in another thread and if any one would like details just ask :)

The good news is shes is finished and running very very smooth, what a week.
