Brakes!

Ok guys, anyone fancy giving me a few pointers as I'm not that fimilar with VW's. I need to sort the brake on the gf's polo. Now I can go Brembo disk and Ferodo pads. As we deal both  but I would really like to get something bigger on there.

So here is the challenge, what other VW setups would fit the polo? Or could I do a mix and match using mounting brackets. The ones that I had seen and thought about was the setup off a Mk3 golf??? the one that came in VR6 format. Would probably need the master cyinder too.

Or do I not bother and just order in a set of brembo disks and ferodo pads?

Any help would be 8)

I wouldn't bother and go with Brembo/Ferodo.

If you want to mess around, consider getting the 16v or even the Mk5 GTI setup (including hub assembly) to increase the size. Can't remember if your GF has a 16v already or not, btw. But anyway, it would go from 239mm to 256mm iirc.

Failing that, consider the Mk2 Golf G60 brakes which are also 4x100 but come in 280x22mm. You need 15" wheels to cover them.

Even better are the Ibiza Cupra brakes, which are a hefty 305x28mm. Don't know if these are anywhere near easy to fit though.

If she's not upgrading the engine, I'd stick to the first option.

Cheers mate, been looking at your website, love the polo 8)

Looked into the first option (she has a 16v) only really looking at going up in size for the simple reason that I have a new supplier that can do me custom lightweight alloy bells and rotors. Looked at the cupra brembos and wondered if they could be fitted to say a 310 rotor with s custom bracket.

Thanks for the help and you can never have enough stopping power
