I went to see a mk4 polo today. It was an ink blue 1.4cl. It was immaculate a part from a few worrying things. It a had an oil light falshing on the dash.

What i mean is, on the digital display, whilst driving along, the word 'oil' was flashing and didn't go out until the ignition was turned off.

What does this mean????!!!!

Messages would be most welcome

Don´t worry, that don´t mean that theres Oil missing in the engine, it only means that this car needs an oilservice/oilchange.
Because everytime this "OIL" is shown in the Display the garage has to make an "oilservice".
Thats only an oilchange.
And after the garage has done that the machanic has to reset that "OIL" in the display and after 15000km /.....miles this "OIL" comes again.
Tell me, is your Polo manufactured before or after 5/97, then i´ll give you an instruction how to reset this "OIL" in the Display.
