gearbox oil filler

Anyone take a picture of where the filler is for the gearbox fluid so I know Ive got the right one?

Not really
Look where the n/s driveshaft is, next to that.
Theres two, the top one is where you fill up, the bottom one where you drain it.

Dont put any oil in where pettsy said whatever you do! Thats an inspection hole for the clutch!. where the driveshafts bolt to the gearbox there are two huge grub screws on the side of the shorter driveshaft. The upper one is the filler plug and the bottom one is the drain. The oil level should be at the bottom of the filler plug hole.

A lot of motorbike clutches are actually wet (submerged in a bath of oil,) which I find very strange.
But yeah, don't be pouring oil in that hole!

Right, I've just taken one now in the pitch black, but I think you can make it out pretty well.
That is the filler plug. The drain plug is below that and looks exactly the same.

How would you fill the gearbox up with oil though as the hole is in an awkward place. Just read in haynes it saids to put 3.1 litres in a 5 speed, is that right as you know what haynes are like?
Would you use the same oil as what is recommended in haynes?

Yep, thats the one, i just cant get it to reach. Guess I need to get a flatter headed driver, but thats extra cash which a better technique may solve for free

The figure in haynes is probably quite approximate, i just bought 3 1-litre bottles of 80w90 from a local supplier (there's not many grades to choose from really) to fit the 2.8 L it specs for a 4-speed. The idea is to get the top bolt off (so you know that you can), open the bottom one and let it drain, then replace the lower bolt, fill through the top hole until you can't fill no more, and replace the bolt. You might want to get 4 bottles in case you spill some
