beating out door dents

come on then, hit me... how difficult might it be?

i mean i assume the door probably has to come off, and the door card (needs repair itself anyway - doesnt clip flush to door or handle any more as its clipping points are bent)

then there's the business of gently tapping it out with a hammer and a wood block..

the only possible reply to that is

" ££££ " !!!!

I think i could get a "new" scrap door (again!) for less than any dent repair company might charge.

if the paint hasnt chipped then you can get away with a heat gun and a small flat metal hammer.

warm the area slightly so the paint doesnt flake when you bash out the dent with the hammer.

Put a bit of wood behind the dent and gently hit the wood, that way you will apply even preassure all over the dent and it should come out alot flatter than randomly hitting it.
If you have no wood use a leather/copper hammer as this wont damage the metal and risk flaking the paint as much.

Don't get excited but i could probably get most of the dent out for you, it wont look anywhere near perfect but a lot better :D

Did a smaller similar repair on a Schitroen Paxo a couple of weeks back,

pm me for some pics of that repair if you want ?

Cheers Stu

ooh sorry havent looked in here for a while

i've got myself a dent puller from Machine Mart a good few weeks back but haven't dared do anything with it....... as there were no instructions included and i can't find anything in my haynes manuals!

don't spose you guise know anything about operating these pieces of kit?
it's just a suction type by the way, not one of the scary drill-it-in jobs.
