Help: Alloy Size Fitments

Hi everyone...
I'm hoping to buy some alloys for my Polo. I know someone who is selling some 16" Alloys which I'd like but dont know whether they'de rub or anything with the car. I'm sure 16's are okay for a Polo, but just making sure to be safe.

The size is: 205 X45 X16.
Can anyone tell me whether any alterations will need to be done as the guy said they may be big for the car, I'm assuming he meant about lowering the car, etc.

Thanks in advance for any feedback!
Cheers.

Aziz.

195/40/16 is better....your size is a little bit bigger when considering the tire diameter....your dials cant measure your speed correctly if u use this 205/45/16.....

195/40/16 is ideal for a mk4 with 16s.
anything bigger will rub and knock out your speedo.

however 195/40/16s are expensive.
go for sum 15s and get 195/45/15 as they are cheaper.

That site will let you know the difference.

When my speedo says Im doing 60mph, im actually doing 61mph
