The Magistrates from hell . . .or maybe from the Tax office?

Had court the other day for my speeding offence on the A127. For anyone that doesnt know i got caught, well 'recorded' doing 113mph in a 70mph zone.

There were lots of people in court that day for driving offences, but i could quite confidently say i was the fastest :¬P haha

Anywayz, i gave me speech after they read out my offence, but the magistrates were being all arsey about it. they gave me a 3 Month Ban a £300 fine.

After they told me this they 'head' magistrate said i will have to pay it all today.

Errrrrrrr no, so i told him that i didnt have £300 to pay today, to which he said i should have thought of this before i came to court.

Like wtf? do these fat buttocked layabouts who earn thousands of pounds sitting on their asses all day dishing out punishments, not realise that SOME of us havent got money willy-nilly to give out.

So i explained that i cant make or invent money, and so i didnt not have £300 to give them. he then asked if i had credit cards, to which i replied

"nah mate dont believe in credit cards, if you havent got the money, why buy something?"

he really didnt like this hahaha and started conferring with his fellow magistrates. He then said that he didnt believe me, and that everyone had a credit card. So i laughed at him and said

"magistrates arnt supposed to make assumptions, you should know better"

ahha i think this really made his blood boil hahaha wa great.

After he chatted to his magistrates again and me chuckling to my mate who was watching from the public area, he said i should get a loan out from my bank to pay them

HAHAHA YEA RIGHT MATE !

So i calmly said to him

"Thats not gonna happen in a million years mate (always gotta say the mate just to be rude :¬) ) im in debt already im not black listing myself from my bank"

he didnt like this either haha like wtf though, are they magistrates or do they work for the tax man or something?

Anywayz aftyer about 20 mins of arguing about how i was going to pay i said they can have £100 today and lump it. APPARANTLY ive got to pay the last £200 in 28 days haha

errrrrr no they can have £50 when i get paid and be happy with it.

Bars tards !

Also on my way into the courthouse, i was stopped by a couple of pikeys lol I was wearing my dapper £600 suit to look top notch for court, and they all thought i was a solicitor !!!

hahaha

I was thinking of representing them, badly too haha, but i thoguht against it considering i had my own case, I musta looked the part though :)

Anywayz i guess ive got a long winter ahead of me :( might just camp in watch DVD's and rinse GTA3: St Andreas all winter

bwaaaa

Anyone wlse had some funny times in court?

Just not sure what else to do, dont wann go all silly and put massive chicken wire grills at the front like Pazz has done, i like my cars to look standardish, rather than a Halfords jobbie.

Your lucky they didn't up the fine they dont like backchat at all!
I supprised you got 3 months ban though. But then I've seen people get a year for less and also 6 weeks for more.

And I wouldn't boast about doing 113 on a dual carriage way. Hope you learnt your lesson.

How did you get caught? Camera? Radar? Bloke on a bike?

James.

boast ? your jokin right? haha i wouldnt say that im boasting, doin 113mph is quite normal in my books, why buy a car that can go that fast if your not going to do it?

And ive lost count of the amount of racing ive done on the streets, i think im quite qualified to make any statement i want really wether or not you think its bosting lol im not here to impress anyone, i just have my giggles and if you want to read them you can, if not fine, ill hardly lose sleep :¬P

I get the feeling your trying to make me look small by making that statement, which is fine as everyones entittled to their own oppinion, but it does make you sound like a bit of a willy-wonka haha

I got caught by one of them sneaky mobile cameras Petrified, they were hiding behind a bridge and some foilage !!! well lame :(

mobile cameras make baby jesus cry............ i wont come out saying you really should have been doing that speed (like i dont know the conditions of the road you were caught or anything) but i'd sooner be stuck behind your 1.9 (for what, all of a second) than the endless stream of dawdling 2.0s any day....... why didn't you folks all just up and get a 1.6 or 1.4 already, save yourselves some petrol, insurance and tax money to spend elsewhere, if you're not going to exercise some control over that big engine and use it to safely accelerate out into a gap (instead of gormlessly drifting at a constant 69), nip past that truck, then pull smartly back into the inside lane? or do a decent 60 on the A-roads? (yes, even uphill, i assure you a 2-litre will do that madam)

Love the bringing down of the man there, shocked that you didn't get contempt of court, but they wouldn't have had much of a leg to stand on - they can't make you pay if you haven't got the means (except sending the bailiffs in - be careful to always push the line that you'll pay by installments rather than just not paying at all) and it's not right to put you in a position where you could e.g. end up in trouble or bankrupt.
"should have thought about that before you came to court" - hehe patronising sods, how would you know what way it might go or how big the fine might be? what if you'd had to pay for emergency house repairs the day before, etc?

been witness to a whole lot of that stuff through my dad's business sadly going bankrupt (he's now carrying on in the same line, just as a private trader instead of under the company name). when it comes down to legal matters of money, people and procedure can get right strange but so long as you're upfront with people it's rarely as bad as it initially seems.
he recounted a nice exchange over the phone with some debt collection firm when they had basically nothing left out of the housing/unemployment benefit after paying the rent and buying food essentials and petrol for the knackered old volvo.......
- please can you try to make some repayments, or we will be forced to take legal action
== sorry, no can do... the business went under and we're skint, got maybe a fiver left for the rest of the month. we'll be happy to pay you back just as soon as we can afford it, but right now you'd be taking the shirt and blouse from our backs.
- could you even make a token contribution? say, to stave off the interest?
== hmm, you're not really listening to me here. what's the minimum you'd accept?
- we could perhaps go down to £250 a month... (*more than the original loan repayments!*)
== you're having a laugh aren't you! we're subsiding on benefit right now, we barely have that much income WITHOUT considering living costs! we could pay you that when the cheque comes in, but we wouldn't be able to carry on what remains of our trade due to lack of petrol, and we'd also both be dead because we'd be starving on the streets. you'd never get the rest of your money back then. oh and don't bother sending the bailiffs - there's nothing left that isn't involved in the essential backbone of the business.
- *click*

In the end, so long as they think they'll eventually get a payup, people will let you get away with blue murder!

(now it boils down to "ah, hello, mr X... we're from..." "some debt collection firm?" "yes" "we've gone bankrupt, claim file number XYZ, dated AB/C 2004, at Random country court" "ah, i see, i'll just note that down, thank you for your time, we won't be bothering you again")

PS.... that bloke who got bladdered christmas night and ran right over a girl leaving midnight mass last year just had his death-by-dangerous-driving (note: no driving while intoxicated charge seems to have been registered) sentence commuted from 5 years to 4. What the hell?
