I know this will have been disscussed more than most topics (apart from if Jordan takes it up the jacksy!)
Anyways, i digress... my car is to me, very low indeed (but by some of your standards, maybee its not that low). I want to know largest most suitable tyre size to use with 13" steelies that are 4.5J (currently 145/70/13). Also... the largest suitable tyre size to use with 14" Pirelli P-slots (6J?) (curtrently none, lol).
Cheers.

What about rolling circumfrence compared to what the car is supposed to run on? ie... are they the same figure?
Cheers.

Theyre as close as you're gonna get yeah. in real life 185/50/14s are sightly bigger than standard RR where as 195/45/14 is everso slightly smaller. Either will do fine. I run 165/55/14s on my GT (again same RR) but theyre NOT fine!

Are you sure mine are bigger gareth as my speedo reads 5mph over now i have these on. ie:- 35mph on speedo = 30mph on gps
I'm sure the 185/50/14 is slightly under standard 13 tyres.
I thought it was better for the speedo to read over the actual speed than under..*flash flash camera*

It depends what tyres you had originally. Did you have 145/80s on? If so they are smaller. Apologies. Im used to GT profiles you see, which are smaller.

You still got em? Deecent make? Wouldnt mind some o them for my mk2. The 145/80s on at the mo seem pretty good for some reason though. I havent locked up or lost traction with them yet or anything. Been going round roundabouts as fast as I would in my GT!

Ok, theyll have to be 165s though as 175's are too wide for the wheels id be putting them on (4.5" zolders) which are the original (and only) alloy wheel option for the ranger and GT squareback. Look like this;

I just so happen to have a set of 5 that I got off my GT. But Tyres are too small, (and ones got a puncture) Im sure you get the idea anyway.

You might have 5.5" wheels as well with it being a saloon, which im sure youll want back.
