pub to fast food joint to pub to club
thats the only thing that you'll get 90% of people to agree on after all...
actually my last day of school was kind of school - pub - home - back to pub - down into towns grotty little quasi-club. and even on the way through that people went missing.
the last bit was stupid and fun (bombarding the DJ with balled up paper out of a notepad forgotten in my pocket with "TIFFANY AND A-HA, NOW" scrawled on them) but dont think id want to go there in a hurry again!

urgh, it was works xmas ball thing last night and i think karma came back to get me as the dj was playing awful stuff, and put tiff & aha on just as the very last of my spirit had been drained and i could no longer do a proper running man, just sway slightly in a depressed manner reminiscent of an overweight jogger.
more than 1000 people there and somehow it still managed to be kinda dull. perhaps just a reflection on my own bombed-out end-of-working-week state, but can't say anyone else appeared to be going wild either.
dont go for a ball in december, whatever you do - stick to the meal and houseparty idea, and get back to the house pretty early on, issue everyone with sleeping bags for when they need to crash, and leave the heating on overnight.
(ended up waiting outside in the subzero december air for almost 2 hours for a taxi after it finished. not something i ever want to repeat and the reason you should always buy the big issue)
