There can be 'only 1' real Colin McRae!!

Well, i'll just jump straight in with it...
Last Saturday night i wanted to put 'good use' to the recent upgrades i have had done to 'Don Polio' & take it out for a real good thrapping in the hills (with camcorder attached for fellow forums members benefit ,naturally)
Anyways, what transpired was actually far from what i had in mind for sharing with others membere here...
Upon my usual choice of country road, i proceed to make the car 'earn' what has been recently spent on it. All was well untill i got to the top of the hill (upon beginning my 'drive to doom') & i found a thick layer of fog & this proceeded to thin & thicken randomly!
So, driving the way i usualy go was fairly uneventful, apart from thrapping it a little to hard sometimes & also being a fairy due to the conditions permitting
For some strange reason, i found myself compelled to turn around after i completed the road & head back for some more shannigans

(much to my suprise of course!)
Upon about 2 minutes duration into my impending 'road to doom' i managed to loose control on a bend & proceeded to trash the car into a dry stone wall & a ditch @ around 55mph

(DUMB ASS

)
So... the morale of the story is... leave it to the professionals & choose the correct place to do it
Will post pix up very soon (just gotta remeber all the jargon to make them appear, lol)
Cheers.
Pete

Sorry to hear about the car mate........
It's easily done - lets face it how many of us have been there ourselves.
One sobering thought however is it's a good job it was just you and the car affected and not an innocent third party
Fog doesn't frighten me - the std of peoples driving in it does
Speed doesn't kill
- contact with solid roadside objects at speed does
- Cars that hit people when travelling at speed do
Lets be carefull out there

i hate driving in fog, especially competitively, did a scatter rally once in the fog main beam/spots make it worse, just turns into a wall infront of you.
i got out and turned the spots so the showed the edges of the road and crept along
comiserations about the car glad your ok

Eesh.. looks a bit of a mess

Glad you're alright.. the car looks pretty much repairable as well, despite being in a bit of a state.. are you going to put her back together, or is she destined for the garage in the sky?
Edit: Just noticed the front wheel about 6" further back than it should be and the bent pillar there.. perhaps not as easily repairable as I thought..

owwie....
well, let that learn thee one - dont f*** with fog (and country roads made wet by it)
sorry to see / hear that though, not too bruised or shaken i hope?
thats some crazy scrapage you've got over the wing there.. just reflect for a moment and think.. "if i'd been riding a motorbike.." ?

and a major wheel buckle (kudos) and tubes hanging out of places there shouldn't even
be tubes.
PS i gotta scrounge - what state is the passenger door in? thats just my colour i think

oh and out of interest was that rust round the screen there before, or has it just taken hold really fast?
edit - holy guacamole, 128mb? *breaks out the "save target AS" button* i'll have to see if i can shrinkulate that unless it's nice and long

(i mean you already have it as divx/mp3, might be kinda tricky)
"42 minutes remaining" - haint seen that for a good long time!

Are you sure that can't be saved? There is a Blue J-Plater Coupe in my scrappy. If you can hang on til January when I'm driving, I can nab a door, wing, bonnet, indicator and anything else you might want?
Karl.
