Different subs for different kind of music I think! I think 10" is for dance music and more 12 and 15 are for rap and r'n'b.

Thats what I think someone else will prob set you right.

Well, the larger the cone the more sound it can generate, although you also have to take resistance, magnet weight etc into account, so don't go on cone size alone.
Tbh unless your aim is rattling windows rather than listening to decent music, anything over a 10 or 12" is pretty much wasted really.. might as well get a good quality small one rather than a poor quality big cone..

and theres me with my 12 incher .....sub  yes it does start to rattle the boot-lock and various other sundry goods found located in the boot (ie' a 13" rusty wheel and a jack that doesn't fit under the car)
im thinking im slightly ill-equipped if i break down, all i have is a bottle of tyre-weld lol

I like them, my friend had one in his s*xo, sounded great, gets the really low frequencies, easy to install as well, may i not also easy to nick as he found out in summer.

He's now got the one that is completely in a box (can't think of what you call it at the mo) that is slightly better but it's a matter of what you can afford/want to pay :)

yeh wot Polo 03 says it depends on wot music you listen to. Ive got 2 10" MTX subs & the r good for rock music.

As every1 has said, go for a/two good 10" or 12" and you cant go too wrong.

10" give a smaller, punchier (dont no how to describe it) sound whereas 12" give a deeper heavier sound. Well thats in my opinion.....

The actual sound of it will depend much more on other factors than it's size.. a good quality sub will be clear and punchy, a cheapo sub will be muddy and boomy.. the size tends to determine the volume more than the sound quality.
