i need a hand deciding on a new years eve costume, doing crap so far

its got to be on the theme of cartoon characters and superheros
must be practical for working behind a bar for six hours in (so no transformers, mutating tetsuos etc - unfortunately no dangermouse either as he wears an eyepatch)
and.... able to be easily knocked up in the next 36 hours or so

but, it can't be mr incredible or shrek (already taken).

suggestions invited and if you pick a real good one... photos of it and the sexiest lady's outfit (or man's, if you're so inclined) :)

all i can think of so far is variations along the dexter - doctor X (from powerpuff girls) - brains theme (but my white coat has mysteriously vanished), spiderman (where to get a suitable costume that can be shouted thru?), or various extra-easy (or extra hard) anime charas that no-one would ever get.
(i mean, it would be extra sweet to turn up as a wind-rider from Nausicaa, but like anyone's ever going to twig?)

feh!

 Simply don't turn up for work - stay with me - then all you do is, when the boss calls to say "where the hell were you on new years eve?", tell him you were dressed as the Invisible Man, a genuine official superhero :D :D :D

Bend the rules. Wear a suit plus specs a la Eric Morecambe/Vic Reeves, and tell everyone you're Clark Kent :P

Wolverine (movie version) in his civvies. Just cultivate your sidies over the next couple of days, dig out your roughest jeans and your leather and you're away, slap something in your hair and you're away. Might want to work something up for the claws. Might get in the way of serving, though.

Or

Work out what colour spandex / y-front combination you can get hold of and work from there. There's a character for every colour...

Or

If you can get hold of a skeleton top and a grey hoodie -- Donnie Darko. Then spend the night explaining the philosophy of the film and the fact that he actually *was* a superhero...

Just thoughts.

Deek.

batfink and haku might take a hell of a lot of explaining, and i think the ol' gut might get in the way of Liono... but the rest have got me thinking :D

i just found out that brains from thunderbirds actually wears a powder blue suit and a turtleneck jumper, not a white coat... after i finally found the blessed thing. charity shop time for that one. either that or Dexter if i can get hold of some blue gloves and firey ginger hair dye.

on that front - love the clark kent idea, seeing as 50% of everyone else will probably choose superman/woman!

i dont get the anakin skywalker thing - you mean a rebel x-wing pilot type outfit, yeah? (havent seen ep2, sorry :D)

wolverine, now, i could do that with some severe hair gel, black dye, and fuzzy felts in place of real life sideburns :) :)

similarly ulysses would need lots of ginger hair dye and fake beard.. and a BIG roll of bacofoil hehehe. and a toy lightsaber of course.

want to go as woody (as people there have nicknamed me that before for a very silly reason ) but its getting the gear together in time might be a problem.....

thanks for the maseev response guys :D really got the old brainbox working again

i wonder if i could get away with being spider jerusalem from transmetropolitan, if i could make up a pair of those glasses and shave me bonce?
(besides a wind rider, it would rock to be mendoza from cities of gold, and none too hard either - but you try explaining that one away)

.... might just scruff up, strip to just a loin-cloth, douse myself in talc and take a few too many eye drops.... voila... gollum... and the voice is easy
aaaaaaaaahh! the vodka! it hurts the precious, it hurtss usss!

i dont fancy being arrested :D

cobbled together some kind of Brains costume now, after an afternoon wandering the 2nd hand shops of this fair land.... several outfits on my mind but couldnt get anything which fitted into the game plan other than that, and its tenuous at best.

ah well. a last minute jaunt to asda or any costume shop i can track down might be on the cards. (sh*t --- why didnt i just go as mr ben? sure i can find a bowler hat somewhere and i've got the rest!)
