9n 3dr - Rear Speaker Fitting Adaptors

Hey,

I'm going to be dropping 4 Pioneer TS E1796 17cm speakers into my new 3 door 9n (when it arrives), to be run off my old Sony CDX-M630 (for now, eibach springs are more important to me than an amp).

This is to replace the terrible Beta radio that comes as standard.

The front adapters are easy to get hold of but for the rear of a three door I cannot find any fitting adaptors, is this because the 5dr rear fitting adaptors do the trick? or do I need to look in another direction?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Cheers.

Topic previously on fitting rear speakers if you hadn't seen it before, i think it kinda covers what you want to know.

Thanks for that. It now seems even more complicated! Think I may just part with some cash and get the local car audio shop to do it for me.

I feel a bit stupid really considering how often this subject comes up and there's never been a positive out come BUT i don't believe it's that hard to do.

I got bored yesterday and started considering replacing speakers in the car. When i got the car i bought the uprated rear speakers for my 3dr polo as i didn't have rear speakers to my disgust. Bought all the bits and got my gf's dad to do it (at the time i was scared of taking cars apart and he's a vw mechanic). Any how i decided to take the pannel off yesterday and this is what i found.

The big black pannel at the time were under £1 each from volkswagen. Dunno if this is still the case though, but all it is is screwed in. And then the speakers screw in to the black pannel!

Obviously you'll need to buy speaker grilles to replace the dummy one's in the door pannels and you may have to find a way of attaching that square rubber thing around the speaker to an aftermarket one to channel the sound through the grille but i honestly don't think it'd be that hard to fit rear speakers in to a 3dr polo. :)

Right don't quote me on these part number but looking on ETKA these should be them (for the 3 door)

The bracket that holds the speakers

Left : - 6Q6 035 243 B
Right : - 6Q6 035 244 B

The rubber parts

Left : - 6Q0 035 217 E
Right : - 6Q0 035 218 E

Please correct me if i'm wrong 8)

Cheers SiDaBa! Also can you please tell what size of speakers will fit in the rear bracket?

Also for anyone who wants to know the grille part number is

Left (black): 6Q3 868 129 71N
Right (Black): 6Q3 868 150 71N

Grille part no. may depend on the colour of your interior  .

Well as far as i can work out it's 17cm measured from the plastic edge that the screws go through, it's what size speaker i'll be buying to replace it. :)
