^^ this is a really interesting article on the problems that Ford is having getting some of its new models to the US market in volume.

It gives a good feel for what goes on to early-run cars before they make it to the dealers. Worth a read.

i think it may just be because they're calling one of their new cars the Montego and therefore channeling the spirit of crapness, embued to the whole trio by ghosts of long departed rover 400 forerunners. not much US <---> europe comms going on in the marketing departments i think.
