Hi all, these last days I am not seeing the engine running as usual :?
It is not as smooth as usual, and sometimes, when I hit the accelerator, it seems that it is missing some sparks.

I though something like this would cure the problem http://www.ecotekplc.com/power_boost.htm but I am not sure since I never had this problem before.

Any help? Cheers

ecotek is not really the answer for anything, let alone full on engine running problems - if anything it may make them worse.

get it sorted properly instead. start with the blindingly obvious such as the ignition system - is your distributor cap and rotor arm all ok, your spark plugs, plug leads, coil, hall sender?
run any injector cleaner through your fuel tank recently?
fuel filter all ok?

etc etc etc

Ahh... fuel filter! I'll try that myself. I have the same issues, coincidentally, and after changing the rotor + cap + leads, it's not gotten any better. Still running rough, on 3 cylinders instead of all four, etc.

Dankeschön Tahrey.

Mine is not running on 3 cyclinders, but once i had that problem. I was going an uphill and I inserted the 3rd gear and the car strated knocking terribly. I thought that I inserted 5th by mistake but the problem was that it was running on 3 cyclinders. I went to my mechanic and he removed me one of the spark lead's suppressor. and it worked fine. everything else, fuel filter etc should be ok because I just serviced it about 2months ago, complete service, oil, oil filter, fuel filter, timing belt ...

I think I have to try changing the plugs first and see if it gets any better.

The problem really is in between 1000 and 2000 rpm I think, somewhere in between those revs, but it does not become so rough as it was when it was running on 3 cyclinders, but not as smooth as usual. I thought it needed a clean!

Sorry for my $hitty English, but I am not from England 8)

I just tried some injector cleaner today (which you top up with fuel). I will let you know how it does.
