Lowering and tires

I'm still a bit

here and have poor english, but i hope you'll untherstand me...
I have 6N a.k.a. mkIV (1997) and 15" rims with 195/50/15 tires. Now I am going to lower my car for 60mm in front and 40mm rear side.
Would it work with these tires? Boot is filled with 2x12" subs and 2 amps.

i would go for 195/45/15 tyres. lowering up to around 80mm is fine with these.

But I have new set of 195/50/15 and in Slovenia it is very hard to sell them... If /45/ goes to 80mm...

If you're unwilling to sell them, you can always give it a try. You'll probably find that you need to take care when going over speedbumps and stuff.

with 195/50/15 should give you no trouble, unless if you lower by more than 60mm. mine is 60mm low with 185/65/14, so should be ok with 50/15, but mind you, mine has a very very firm ride, so it also depends for what types of springs/shocks you are going.
anyone knows of a good suspension kit for 60mm lowering because mine needs replacement

and the only I found are 40mm

The set I am going to order supose to be very hard. Allthough I am not a street-racer I can replace come confidence with looks which are given by lowering it low. 'scuse me french...

I lowered my MK4 (6n - 1999) 35mm on Eibach springs and I had 195x50x15's on it and they rubbed like a bastard on the back of the car... Over even the smallest dips in the road.

mine is lowered by 60mm and once I managed to get 7 people inside, without any rubbing at all. That's the beauty of stiff springs, but then you have to forget all about comfort. In Malta (where I live

) the roads are hopeless, and I really mean hopeless, so I really drive slowly on the roads, but, when I get to our very small track, that is where I enjoy my self most
Btw josh, is it that bad on eibach, I was hoping to get a set of those springs maybe with bilstein shocks. If it rubs a lot, I have to forget it then

the same lowering amount can rub in some cases and not others - because the tyres can have a lot of effects...
the same size tyre from one manufacturer may not rub whereas another one will. My BF Goodrich tyre will rub if on the back, but the cheap ones I had originally did not.
basically, 195x45x15's can sometimes fit inside the rear arch..... so you can go very low..... so I am guessing that a 50 profile could cause trouble depending on the tyres you use

try a falken tyre, with better tyre wall for lowerd cars, prevents rubbing on arch

The F451's are designed with a sloping sidewall and are essential when oversizing your wheels (in my experience).

That depends on the rest of the wheel sizes. In general, you'll be fine with an ET of 38 to 43.
