My turbo on my 12k 6c has just gone...
Started as a misfire.. then started making a whirring noise.. then a grinding noise, then lots and lots of smoke followed by the engine light.
Should hopefully get it back tomorrow.

Re: Gearbox issues after tuning?
I haven't had mine tuned but definitely notice a difference in the DSG until the car has warmed up, especially if in 'S' mode. much more jerky than once it's warmed up.

Re: Polo 6C GTI - drinking oil
Interesting replies, thanks.
I'll keep an eye on it and see how it goes. It's under a year old so I'd assume any work would be under warranty if it needed it. It's also a company car so hopefully my wallet is safe!
Mine's a 1.8 GTI by the way forgot to say.

Re: Polo 6C - drinking oil

Polo 6C GTI- drinking oil
Hi all, I was driving up to Silverstone a couple of months ago and the oil light came on. I pulled into a garage and the oil level was just below min on the dipstick. I bought a litre of oil and it then read just under the max on the dipstick. Yesterday I thought i'd have a check and the oil level i...

Re: New GTI
I've done a lot of night time driving recently and noticed one annoying feature which on motorways is worse as you use them more. The light control cluster near the drivers wingmirror reflects directly onto the window obscuring the mirror itself. On unlit sections I had to look behind to check no-on...

Re: Manual vs dsg which is best for you? (video)
Yeah I think that is spot on... I find in-gear acceleration is a bit slow for me. Flipping up through the gears is fine, but I do notice a perceived slowdown when it decides to stick in 3rd gear as you are overtaking someone.. the revs seem to take an age to get to the shift zone for 4th. Saying tha...

OEM wheel kit doesn't fit my GTI
Hi all, Anyone have experience of this? I have the Serron option wheels and wrecked a tyre yesterday. I came to remove the wheel and realised the supplied tools don't fit! I have the locking nut but it's the torx tool that is the problem. It's a double ended screwdriver but neither end is big enough...

Re: VW Racing Air Filter
I'm in the same boat. I've put a window sticker on it and I have some yellow film i'm going to put on the fog lights. Apart from that, the fact it's a lease car makes it difficult!

Re: New GTI
I'm happy with the car apart from the bluetooth quality. Calls I have problems whereby people can't hear me sporadically and when I play audio through the phone I get a choppy playback with frequent breaks in play. It's annoying as I often need to take calls on the move and usually just stick spotif...

Re: New GTI
Already clocked 500 miles and loving it more each time I go out in it :) Onlt thing I've noticed with a fair bit of motorway driving is there is a distinct slight wind noise from the drivers door somewhere.. not too major but just something i've noticed. It's so nice to be able to accelerate past s...

Re: New GTI
Wooo! It's being built :D I must admit the process of ordering the car and then waiting for it to be ready is something I hadn't thought about as I've never had a new car before. It's excruciating! This GTI is the car i've wanted since I was 17. I'm now 41 and loving it  Well technically I...

Re: New GTI
Had a good try out today and drove it to Santa Pod and back for the drag racing (about 160 miles total). The upshot is I LOVE this car  Got used to the Auto box now in all of the modes and its great to be able to switch from dosile to sporty to F1  Look out for a black Cheshire Cat GTI...
