Hi want to get a badgeless grill for my MK1, but then i got thinking does anyone know of or where i can get hold of a chrome grill? Even get one made?

i havn't heard of one before, maybe try a custom fabricators or possibly get some of that chrome strip stuff from halfords and do the top and bottom lines like some mk2's?

yeh suppose, will have a browse at halfords tomorrow :)

girlfriend says she wants to get me a new headunit as she's fed up with me getting angry with my current one.. driving me insane.. £70 spending money :) not gonna buy me an extreme quality one, but i just need something better than a 15 year old cd player like i have atm!

you could try mysteryboy in for sale, was selling some really nice looking HU's for bout £115-40 if i remember, brand new and he's a good lad :wink:

might be stretching that a bit then mate, i believe some catalogs like argos, choice may do an absolute budget HU for about £70...other than that try asking round all your mates if they've got a spare one they wanna make a few £££ from lol :D

Yeh was thinking of perhaps either saving it or getting a Cherry Bomb Exhaust (thanks 2 2pac convincing me) & a rare sports steering wheel for VW MK1 i found at good price..

i had to make my own before but for a mk2, think your best bet is trying it yourself.

or trying to find a audi50 grill and chroming it yourself to make it badgeless

those look like good deals actually :wink: i'm guessing all you want is a standard HU which plays a cd without skipping right? in which case i'd just go for one of the £50-60 hu's on that site

I don't know if badgeless grilles were ever available for Mk1's (just waiting for someone to prove me wrong :lol: )

I have a boxed, unused Hella twin-light grille (including driving lights) for a Mk1 if you're interested PM me...though it won't be cheap!
