hey guys, just bought myself a lovely bright red mk4 and was wondering if anybody has any pics of the oem steel rims painted white because i've searched but to no avail.

anybody painted their steelies and if so what did you do?

Welcome to the site mate.

You got a pic of your car on them? I'll photoshop it for you that way.

In terms of painting your alloys:

If I was to do them DIY style, i'd sand them right down, prime them, sand again (1200 grit), then apply several coats of paint, sanding 1200 wet grit inbetween. Then a couple of coats of thick laquer.

i've already photshopped it but the picture isn't that great in teh first place, but cheers for the advice, hopefully they'll look good enough that i won't need to cough up for alloys.

Yeh red on white looks arite, if your going for the rally look. Dunno how well it would work on a polo though.

Have you thought about doing them gloss black? I think that may look quite good

i'm not so sure, i've seen a picture of somebody will steelies on a polo with the inside silver and the outside black and it looked a bit naf, i think the rally look wouldn't be half bad on a red polo, but we'll see.
