basically car started as a 1.4 8v SE, then to 1.6 8v with head work, cam, exhaust etc etc, but now its going to be 1.6 16v GTI!!!
list of mods so far,
Porsche teledials, Coilovers, Badgless Grill, Custom exhaust (hidden), Lupo GTI aero wipers, Hella L.E.D. rear lights, 6n2 doorpins, 6n2 seats, MOMO team 280mm,
Mods ongoing!
6n2 GTI engine, loom, E.C.U, complete 6n2 dash, with GTI dark lower trims and GTI gearknob+handbrake, 6n2 interior loom,Heaterbox everything basicaly (£45!!!! BARGAIN!!!) fly by wire throttle pedal and box, 4 branch manifold, air filter smoothed front bumper and bonnet

new wheels, 7j teledials with ET 52.3 at front and ET23.3 at rear also got camber shims on order for rear 3degrees lol and also a photshop of the

Looks like abit of hard graft has gone into this project,well done dude you must be quite pleased with the end result.I'd change the air filter you're running or at least try and locate it nearer to the front area away from the engine,when the engine bay is hot the only thing that position will achaive is hot air from the engine bay.Other than that i like it alot,woldn't bother with the pink wheels though they look lovely in silver.

Looks good mate - nice job :)

All i have to say is I agree with Brad - youll get alot of heat soak from the engine with the filter where it is, so perhaps consider relocating it to a cooler location.

Great work mate! Exterior not to my personal taste but love the project.

Third agreement on the air filter, plus it won't clash with the strut brace also!

Why all the effort swapping engines etc?

Personally i think the gti is a better looking car than the 6n??

but hats off and all that,

i would say the same :idea:
The car is pretty good but So much effort is it need it for the 6n

little update, reason i didnt buy a 6n2 GTi, personaly i prefer the look of the 6n and also the original 6n engine blew up so instead of having a dead worth nothing 6n and buying another car i changed the engine

Looks great on the track mate :)

I have been to a few BTCC events this year and that MK5 golf looks stunning!
What spec is the engine exactly because I know its a 2.0 non Turbo

Plato cruised to the title this year
