New wheels

Post by lxm »

I want to refresh the look of my polo and am about to pull the trigger on a set. I currently have 15" OEM Cadiz alloys.

My choice is between the new 6C portago 16" alloys or 6r syneit 16" alloys

Which do you think would look best with a flash red polo ? I have seen the portago on the new 6c se designs and they look very nice, I have never seen the syenit alloys on a polo but like the knight black alloys.

The bottom ones are from the se design are they not? What colour is your car? Think they look the dogs nuts on white cars and especially nice on that bright blue colour!

Sorry my bad. Have just red your post again and see that you have a flash red car! I like the look of both alloys but the portago ones stand out for me.

Thanks for your thoughts, my car looks great with its alloys at the moment but looks 100 times better when the front two alloys are gunmetal grey with break dust...... I have always wanted alloys all round with that 'break dust colour' and I guess the portago would fill that dream :)

My eye is constantly catching polos with the black/silver knight alloys, hence I liked the grey 'syneit' version.... I think I'll pull the trigger on the portagos

Syenit is a grey metallic as opposed to knight which is a gloss black - same alloy, two finishes.

So they are although they looked black on my screen, having said that if I'd properly read the description rather than look at the picture the colour is mentioned! :D

I picked up x3 Portago alloys from europe on ebay from a VAG specialist. They were less than £110 each. The ebay photos showed very slight scuffs and a couple of stone chips on each.

They arrived yesterday and they are pretty much brand spanking new. :D The scuffs as shown on ebay actually wiped off with a cloth and was simply rubber/plastic resedue marking and the stone chips were actually tar spots....

The grey portagos LOOK AWESOME before they are even on the car! I need to get a 4th wheel and went into my local VW dealer. The list price for the alloy is £400 per alloy....................................................................................................
