6R GTI Spark Plugs Condition

Post by MHO »

Hello everyone!

I am new to the forum so hello! The car has only done 21,000 miles and I've owned the car for about a month now and really enjoying it. I've read a lot on the 6R GTI's having issues with spark plugs, coil packs etc. Today I changed the spark plugs to the NGK BKR7EIX that are recommended. This is the conditions of the plugs i took out, could anyone advise whether this normal condition or carbon build up or any other potential issue? Any advise would be much appreciated!

They look fairly healthy. Nice brown colour

The only one of slight concern is the 2nd, as its fairly sooty.

I agree with Alex. Looks not too bad. Only maybe number 2, counting from the left. But on spark-ignition engines, you have to replace the spark plugs regularly for maintenance anyway
