I'm thinking of making use of Seat Heater button(left) - (we dont need heater here in Asia) to activate/switch on the interior lighting. Since the button got two steps (for heating) i plan to make the first step to switch on the footwell lights, then the second step to switch on all the above(roof) lightings.

Is this possible my dear ciclo vs vw diagram? pls

This button has not two steps itself. It has one contact pair and two yellow lights. The seat heating power is changing by J744 seats heating control module.
Yes. I know. Maybe we can ignore the J744. And simulate to activate the light as in the door contact open

well you could do it with something like a bi-stable relay.

remember that the seat heater button is a simple contact that connects a pin to another when pressed.
the leds are simply powered by two pins too, for each light a pin. it's not smart in any way. the smartness is in the control module.

maybe you can make a connection between terminal 58 (parking lights) and the footwell lights trough a diode or something.
another option is to look at polo6rfreuende where they made the audi R8 footwell lights work with an external module.

New to this, Love the polo! Where did you get your led foot well bulbs? I've got a 6C GTI on order and these are a must. Nice thread!

In such case it is better stop the car in a proper place and then look for, for your safety and especially for the other drivers.

In the case that is the passenger who seeks the fallen object you could install some ambient lights permanent (e.g red color, or also multicolor so you can choose the color) via a relay that could be activated by the 58 signal. This installation would be much easier.

Welcome  . Thank you very much. I think all the information about the lights is on the first page of my topic (via links).
However there are many online stores that sell all kinds of interior light bulbs (LED bulbs recomended), and also of course at the VW dealers.
Remember that your new Polo is a 6C and I have a 6R so the electrical installation is different.

I hope you enjoy your new GTI. 8)

Thanks for the reply! Sorry I wasn't aware they'd be different in that sense. I'll do some research!

Thanks again, I'm sure I will! :)

Yesterday I played for a while with VCDS and can observe that in the Gateway the button Coding II - 11 is in active mode.

Image

I wonder for what it will serve and what are the codes :) .... (the Gateway has no label from long ago)

----
Edit

PS: also was playing with the VCP but so far I have not had any good experience with this tool ... :?
Too much money to not even have a guide for use in English, as it is sold all over the world. However they have a forum in German, all my best respect to the Germans but it is something strange when somebody sells something worldwide.
