Rear Badge Removal 6R

Has anyone had any trouble removing and replacing the rear badge on the 6R polo. I bought my car last week and got black badges for it but i’m having an issue trying to remove the rear badge. i’ve read that it’s supposed to be held in by tabs and you can use an old card or a flat head to pry it off but it just seems to be damaging the badge any help would be appreciated

Use some thin thread or fishing line to cut through the tabs (don't try to lever the badges off !!)

I've had mine removed completely, then the tailgate machine polished to hide any witness marks

D-ash: The OP is asking about the circular VW badge/boot release, not the chrome letters.
