Removing wing

Post by GroovyCarrot »

I tried to removing the O/S wing today in order to respray it, but failed.. I removed all the bolts along the top of the wing, the one down the bottom just in front of the door, the two phillips screws under the bumper, the bumper itself, the plastic inner arch and the side repeater, but when I tried to get it off it felt like there was something holding it in place just in front of the door. Is there a bolt I've missed, or is there an art to getting it off?

IIRC there are 3 bolts inside the wing on the door frame side.It will be easier if you can warm the sealant aswell

2 to be precise.

ste's pretty much hit the nail on the head. but i would also advise heating the sealer up with a blow torch. not to much mind because it will ignite eventually (trust me  ). other wise you'll risk bending the wing when you try and pull it.

dont forget to use aload more seeler when putting it back on :D

Yep, didn't see those ones. I'll remember that, thanks for pointing them out.
