What's everyones MPG these days?

Post by joe2612 »

Just thought it would be helpful to see what kind of economy everyone is getting from their GTIs.

A trip yesterday along the A303 , not going much above 70 with CC on, got me about 38 Mpg. (£25 for 160 miles).

That sounds about right, I've had 44mpg as an average doing a constant 60mph to and from work on the country roads. I got about 40mpg down the m/way to Early edition.

I used to get around 40 when commuting. Now it's a toy, 30 is generally good.

The 330d can get up to 50, but my word is it boring doing that!

I get between 37 and 42mpg depending how I drive on a long commute on mainly A roads. I am pretty happy with that. I have not noticed a difference between using normal unleaded and super unleaded on fuel economy but it does feel a bit crisper and more responsive using super unleaded, not sure if that is just wishful thinking though. would you notice the power difference between them both?

Hallie
Next time you fill up,brim the tank and reset the trip-meter, the next time after note the Trip reading and Litres to brim again, your MPG is worked out by Trip reading divided by Litres times 4.546...

Easy

I'm doing a 100 miles a day in my Polo on the commute to work mainly motorway driving

I can get about 44 MPG quite easily as its only the last 5 miles or so that i'm in built up areas.

Once got it up to 48 MPG but I am talking some seriously anal driving here, just wanted to see how far I could push it!
