H&R 25/40 springs

Post by YamiPrem »

Hi,

I was looking to lower my Polo 6R (2011), and me being a complete noob to all things automobile I am a bit lost.

First of all, awesomegti are selling these springs for £122 or so plus £18 delivery.

So looking for other prices, I found a couple on eBay, it appears German though but a lot cheaper, even with delivery:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/H-R-Federn-AB ... 2c64500d8c

According to translation, it says it comes with ABE, and eliminates some form of registration? Uh.

Anyway, I need the ones up to 929kg.

Just tell what to get. And if I'll need anything else? I just want to lower the car a bit without spending millions.

Ta!

Am I safe in getting them?

Talk to your insurance company first, some of them will not cover cars with suspension modifications, others will treat you as though you are a money pit. Don't even think about not telling them, one small bump, even if it's not your fault and you could be in real trouble.

Or have them removed before the inspector comes to see the car...

Whilst the car is in a police pound and you are in hospital after an artic shunts you from behind? With the greatest respect a rather silly suggestion even assuming that any damage was so localised the springs were still removable. Whilst I haven't been in that position myself a good friend has and the final payout for a no fault accident that left him disabled was substantially compromised.

Ok, thanks for the heads up.

But any help with the eBay link? :)

Is there a reason why they are cheaper? Or is it all good?

Cheaper as the £ to euro exchange rate is in our favour at the moment.

I ordered them from eBay. Found someone who would do all corners for £60.

I don't need new shocks, right?
