Re: ciclo. Wife's Golf MK7.5 Ready2Go 1.0 TSI 6MT 200Nm/l 115HP. 🧙♂️
Golf 7.5 DCC project. Exterior rear wiring and DCC rear shock absorbers installed.
I have connected the wiring in the interior (rear seat area) using the 'couplings' as shown in previous posts viewtopic.php?p=603579#p603579 , viewtopic.php?p=603783#p603783 , both for the shock absorber valves and for the electric parking brakes and speed sensors.
The installation of the new wiring is very simple, the factory wiring is removed and at the same time the new original is installed with the new fixing clips. I recommend pressing the rubber grommet all the way around from the interior area so that the fastening tabs that are molded into the rubber grommet seat correctly.
Factory wiring. New but dirty.
I guess I'll clean it and put it in a box for I don't know what purpose, ... or I'll take it to the recycling.
I installed the DCC Shocks according to erWin, but I used my small trolley jack instead of the spring compressor, it is much simpler if you work on the ground/floor and not on a lifting platform, see images below.
Note:
Once the wheel is removed to remove the shock absorbers, the first thing is to remove the rear level sensor bolt and separate the level sensor from the axle to avoid breaking the sensor.

- At the moment, I am not going to install the new original Blue rear brake calipers, which are the same size as the factory ones, I will do it at the same time or a little later than I install the new big Blue front brakes, so the wear of the brake pads will be balanced and the 'single' brake pad wear sensor will do its job properly (I assume).
Everything remains the same on the outside...
It looks like the weather will improve noticeably in a few days (5 or so).
Good weekend to everyone!

2.5 + 2.5 + 0.5 = 5.5€
Test.
The following jobs for my DCC project require, in addition to applying pressure on the brake pedal to loosen the front axle bolts, also releasing pressure from the hydraulic brake system to be able to disconnect the brake hoses 'correctly'.
'Hydraulic brake system pressure is released when the brake pedal is fully depressed'.
The Second Mechanic is ideal for these tasks. More info here viewtopic.php?p=603218#p603218
As I will have to work/operate with the Second Mechanic on several occasions, I think that with the cheap kitchen boards on the seat will be infinitely more effective than with the cloth on the steering wheel ...in addition to avoiding possible damage to the steering wheel.

By the way, everything remains the same out there,
but it will change...

Golf 7.5 DCC project. Installed front left DCC shock absorber.
Installed parts.
- DCC shock absorber.
- Wheel bearing assembly/hub.
- Level sender.
- 312mm Blue Brake (PC57).
According to erWin viewtopic.php?p=597574#p597574, ...and personal experience.
Highlights:
Starting point...276mm, FSIII 57.
- One-way valve and press the brake pedal several times until no air bubbles come out of the 6mm inner diameter PVC hose, it is the best and easiest method for a single mechanic. (PVC is better than silicone for this job)
- Having million dollar machines or pumps that put 2 bars of pressure into the system is not a better bleeding method than the one-way valve.
- Loosening and tightening the bleed screw with the 11mm wrench requires skill and absolute precision, the margin between too open, open and closed is very small, this is where most people usually fail by opening the bleed screw too much.
- NEVER use those black rubber bleed caps that are attached to the bleed hose and are supposed to fit "easily" onto the bleed screw. It is the beginning of a great failure.
The brake bleeding system that you have seen in these previous images is an evolved system that serves to know with absolute precision the exact amount of new brake hydraulic fluid that you should add to the brake fluid reservoir with another ultra-clean syringe. Also to evacuate the fluid already extracted without removing anything, or to 'initially' extract air from the hydraulic brake system...
This is extremely useful when completely renewing the brake fluid in the entire system.
312mm, PC57.
I think I have stopped having a car, now I have moderately sized brakes and a barely noticeable car attached to them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpGxIZLcR6w&t=32s
At this moment the flashlights had low batteries so the photo festival is over. On the dark side things are like this.
I 'tightened' the axle bolt like this: viewtopic.php?p=603218#p603218
Once the wheel was installed and the car was lowered to the ground, I re-torqued (checked) the three top bolts of the suspension strut mounting.
---
The sun comes out from time to time and there are good weather forecasts for the next few days, but unfortunately I have to install the front right DCC shock absorber on the dark side.

Golf 7.5 DCC project. Installed front right DCC shock absorber.
Installed parts.
- DCC shock absorber.
- Wheel bearing assembly/hub.
- Level sender.
- 312mm Blue Brake (PC57).
Same procedure as for the front left DCC shock absorber, according to erWin and personal experience.
Starting point...276mm, FSIII 57.
Some images for posterity, not many, today I had to finish earlier.
312mm, PC57.
Never say never again, but I will never work on the dark side again...
---
The next thing will be to energize the DCC system = +30/Earth, give it consciousness = +15/CAN lines, and tell it how it should behave = Basic Settings/Adaptations/Codings.
I hope the creature works well and doesn't start out being a new variety of Troll.
I guess I'll do it tomorrow, it's expected to be a magnificent sunny day.

Initial brake test and first sensations/impressions after installing the front DCC struts with new 312mm front brakes. Coding of the new dimension of front brakes.
First impressions are good. Very good braking (without forcing the new brakes/pads/discs) and surprisingly the car goes 'perfectly' straight without any type of driving assistance,... but there is still work and more tests to do.
...
---
Now that it's sunny I install the windshield wipers.
I removed them to install the DCC shock absorbers, etc...

Golf 7.5 DCC project. Coding. Basic Settings. Test.
After connecting the DCC system, the first diagnosis shows a large number of faults in the control units due to the battery disconnection and the installation of the new DCC system. Coding is required to clear all DTCs.
Applied coding.
Basic setting 4B. viewtopic.php?p=582892#p582892
I drive a short distance to have all the sensors recalibrated due to the battery disconnect. I do a new ignition cycle and clear all the DTCs.
'In my case', I have two permanent faults left in the DCC unit (14 Address) that I must solve.
1- Wheel Damping Electronics. Basic Setting.
ODIS S.
To perform the Basic Setting it is necessary to lift the vehicle so that the axles are extended and the wheels are not in contact with the ground.
I had planned to do it on the platform of my trusted wheel workshop, but I preferred to do it with two jack stands and two trolley jacks because I wasn't going to work under the car, it would take me a couple of minutes, plus the 5 to 10 seconds in which ODIS S performs the basic setting.
I went to a place far from humanity, trolls and other divinities , to avoid possible incidents as much as possible.
Warning:
Do not do what you see in the two previous images if you are going to work under the car, additional safety measures are necessary.
I click on yes and the basic setting is done successfully in the blink of an eye, I didn't have time to take a screenshot.
2- Wheel Damping Electronics. Invalid dataset.
ODIS E
I don't know why the data set on my DCC unit 5Q0907376C (coming from an Arteon according to the eBay seller viewtopic.php?p=597558#p597558) is invalid.
I look in MIB Solution, and luckily there is a different dataset also coming from an Arteon. I downloaded them and did the data transfer with ODIS E, as usual.
Note:
I first did the data transfer with the Golf (clubsport) dataset that is on the VCP servers, but logically it doesn't work either for DCC unit 5Q0907376C (Slider).
OK!

Test.
- In Comfort mode, filters road irregularities with notable gentleness. For my personal taste, perhaps the maximum Comfort setting makes the suspension a bit bouncy for good roads at high speed, so I think the maximum Comfort setting is only recommended for really bad roads, like rural roads in a very bad state of conservation (like the image above).
- I love all the possibilities with the Slider, allows you to adjust the suspension for any type of road with relative precision (depends on the driving capabilities/skills/experience/knowledge of each individual). Those who have high driving skills will greatly appreciate this type of electronic damping.
- Considering that our Golf had a 'standard' suspension from the factory (which is already very good), I really appreciate the Sport mode setting for highways or sporty driving, the driving becomes very precise. I like the maximum Sport setting, it brings back memories of an S3 that I had in the past (not the same, but that jumps out in my mind).
- The good handling of the car is not lost in any setting of the driving profiles, even in the maximum Sport setting the/your back will not suffer due to the irregularities of the road.
On the other hand, the MODE button on the center console now makes more/real sense, you can switch from one driving profile to another quickly, which is very convenient for roads that have small sections with many irregularities or in poor condition and the most of the route/road is in good condition.
Works Wonderfully!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzryq-i_ukg
Currently I prefer this suspension height, I have already had other cars with very good and low suspensions that I will not have again. The laws of physics and other more mundane laws are inexorable.
Note:
I will check the geometry/alignment of the wheels according to erWin, in about 1000-2000 kms. viewtopic.php?p=604516#p604516
At the moment and surprisingly the car feels very good in this sense, it goes in a straight line perfectly, I will see in future checks what happens with the wear of the wheels/tires.

Slider. Video https://www.youtube.com/embed/fx62RFSay ... autoplay=1
Previous update of the GW dataset for Slider. viewtopic.php?p=602020#p602020
Related (MODE): viewtopic.php?p=577888#p577888

Flashing DCC unit 5Q0907376B SW_121 to 5Q0907376C SW_130, and transferring the data sets for Slider availability.
As you already know, I had two DCC units purchased on eBay with the same HW, once I have one of them working 'perfectly' for Slider in our Golf (previous post), I proceed to load the same SW and dataset to the other.
Video (process): https://www.youtube.com/embed/mdIaO3WXu ... autoplay=1
Do you want it? It is for sale.
Cheap. Contact by PM.

Golf 7.5 New original 'Blue' rear brake calipers. New brake pads. Brake fluid renewal.
Wonderful spring days.
- This change of new blue rear brake calipers is a cosmetic issue, they are the same size as the factory ones, but the same color as the new original front ones that I installed in the DCC project.
- I install new rear brake pads, included in the set of parts I purchased.
- I do not renew the factory rear brake discs because they are in good condition.
- I renew the brake fluid.
- I clean the original factory dust from the rear axle.
Installation according to erWin (bolt torque, bolt renewal).
I do the activation-deactivation of the EPB with VCDS.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9AcboaVGzY
Size.
Featured images of the process, shortened the images of the right side because they are the same as the left side.
Left side.
90Nm + 90º
35Nm
35Nm
Bleeding valve, 10Nm. Thin coat of assembly paste to the thread of the bleeding valve/screw.
A little look. Opening the hood/bonnet.
Right side. Complementary images.
Wheel cover cap. viewtopic.php?p=603190#p603190
Need cleaning.
I do a road brake test with an ABS regulation. Everything seems normal, maybe the new brake pads need to adapt to the brake disc. The brake pedal feels normal.
I renew the brake fluid following the erWin/following procedure but with one-way valve and ultra-clean filling syringe.
The brake pedal feels normal/PERFECT.

Sometimes the brake fluid level represents a real uncertainty for the few adventurers and common mortals who dare to open the hood/bonnet, especially if the brake fluid is new/clean.
Opening the brake fluid reservoir cap is not an option for these adventurers, lest something break or get dirty with something dangerous.
In daylight it is even worse, ... please do something about this to solve it.
---
As incredible as it may seem, I forgot to do the diagnostic protocols with ODIS after all the tests.
Done this morning.
Also the readings of the whole vehicle with VCDS.
Let's see if next time I don't forget to take the SD card to update the navigation maps at home...

Re: ciclo. Wife's Golf MK7.5 Ready2Go 1.0 TSI 6MT 200Nm/l 115HP. 🧙♂️
Considerations about the latest improvements in our Golf 7.5 Ready2Go.
Brakes:
Factory brakes and 'related' driving aids/assistants are good ...having said that:
- The braking improved significantly when I changed the wheels from 15" to 16" with greater tread width.
Changing wheels to a larger size is better than changing brake discs to a larger diameter with the aim of achieving better braking.
- After a few kilometers in which the new pads have adapted to the four brake discs, braking with the 312 mm front brake discs is pleasantly secure in our Golf 7.5.
Edit after a few more kms:
Powerful braking ...... I will have to be careful with the inertia so that my eyes do not get stuck against the windshield, hmm... I think with the 288mm front brakes it would have been enough.
Adaptive chassis control. DCC:
- I am testing/investigating/enjoying its functionality, and without a doubt, the Comfort MODE is fantastic, a magic carpet.
- I think that for now and for the Individual MODE I will leave the Slider preset at the maximum Sport setting (sport +2). I suppose the spring weather these days influences this decision. I will set the Slider to another setting when asphalt conditions require it.
- I will use the MODE button more often, which is actually the most fun thing about DCC.
Although it is not necessary, I will soon replace the 110A Alternator with the 140A one, it's just a pending task and because the purchase of the 140A Alternator was a real bargain. Hope everything goes well.

Golf7.5. MIB2.5. Maps update. 5NA919866ET , 2024-2025.
- Updated maps can be downloaded from the VW website, you must be registered and log in.
- Click on your myVolkswagen logo (top right of the screen) and go to/click other themes or more themes or something like that (depends on language).
- On the next screen you have the maps update. Once you have indicated the car model and the infotaiment-navigation system, you can download the updated maps.
- The download takes some time, up to 45 minutes, depends on your computer/device and connection speed.
- Unzip (7z ) the zip file and copy the 'maps' folder to the original VW 32GB SD-CDA card.
- The SD-CDA card must be empty.
PDF: https://www.myvolkswagen.net/weatweb/fe ... 202045.pdf
Before.
After.
You must reload the database with radars/speed cameras if you have them.
Note:
1- Some time ago I had to change the SW of the infotainment system so that everything worked correctly. From 0891 to 0879. viewtopic.php?p=589440#p589440
With the new/good SW 0879 I have to use the original 32GB SD-CDA card for updating maps, so that the system can read the data. With the old/bad SW 0891 I could use any type of SD card (>32GB) for maps update. I think it depends on how the software is "manipulated".
2- If for whatever reason you need an original 32GB SD card with updated maps (V19 Europe, 5NA919866ET) and on which you can load the following map updates (2026/27) for MIB2/2.5 VW infotainment systems (original or manipulated), the ones sold on Ali work.
I bought one to test it and to have a second physical medium to update the maps in case the original SD breaks or stops working. The maps are exactly the same as the download from the official VW website. Testing extreme conditions (download, upload/reload, cold, heat, magnetism) and everything continues to work perfectly.
Manipulate sounds more legal than hack, considering that some original SWs were a bit of a disaster.

Golf 7.5. New 140A Alternator/Generator. From 110A to 140A.
From 04E 903 015 to 05E 903 026 Q.
Installation according to erWin. Torques, etc...
Some prior information that you should keep in mind if you are going to do the same or something similar...
- Voltage regulator. Basic setting/Adaptation: viewtopic.php?p=594150#p594150
- Installation related: viewtopic.php?p=594180#p594180
Installation. Highlights.
---
---
A little cleaning in these areas, although there is a lot of pollen suspended in the environment and it is impossible to leave it completely clean, also, unfortunately for me, I forgot to close the driver's window completely and I will have to remove the dust/pollen with the duster again when I finish this installation.
In the previous image the generator/alternator cable, with the ammeter you can check that the generator charges according to the consumers.
Video here viewtopic.php?p=594095#p594095
At the first engine start I see that something new is happening (I'm starting to think I've broken something ), the idle is unstable between 1000-1300 rpm, it stabilizes after the first 5 to 10 seconds and when I check the voltmeter I see that the new 140 A alternator is generating charge... 14.1 volts (in this case).
This happens every time I do a new ignition cycle. It must be solved.
I connect the diagnostic tools (VCDS, VAS6154, etc.), clear all DTCs due to battery disconnection, and the diagnosis returns two faults that are related, one on the engine and one on the Gateway, as shown below.
Again I start to think maybe I forgot to connect the LIN, but I was pretty sure I heard and felt the connector click.
To solve this fault/s it is necessary to do the Adaptation/Basic setting of the voltage regulator, as you have seen in the video linked above.
It takes 10 minutes of waiting... then I reconnect the VAS according to the guided function and when I click on 'repeat' the basic setting has been successfully carried out.
I clear the faults, cycle the ignition again, start the engine, and everything works as it should. Perfect idle, as usual.
New diagnostic protocol, and VCDS Autoscan.
I take the car for a walk to verify that everything is working correctly.
