got me a new polo 1.9 tdi sport over the weekend to replace the gti, this car is suprisingly fast well impressed with the performance tdi power all the way. :lol:

hi jo by my reckoning i must be 70-75 mm low on the 17's you can't get a finger inbetween the arches what i will do is measure the front lip from the ground that will give an idea of how close it is, i'll get my friends digi cam and see if i can take some uptodate close ups for you.

scotty 17's do fit with a drop and without having to roll the arches and the mk5 looks wicked.

i'm here not been well all week so not had a chance to come online, mate go for the 195/40/17 and you won't be disappointed even when you lower the polo (it will need lowering if you going for 17's). 8)

not sure about the 7.5 it prob be too wide in the 17's i run the 7/17 and tyres are 195/40/17 it lowered about 60mm on h&r coilovers it might be lower than that as no space to get a finger in between the tyre and arches if you can then definately get the 195 tyres the 205 will rub in the front a...

no karl it was the momo's, (mike bought the design 90's) worst thing is they can't be refurbished as the momo sign is indented in the lips completly scrapped out anyway ordered two replacement rims yesterday wasn't two bad wouldve cost the same to refurb. Hope your ok toxxin.

Don't you just hate when you driving along and the pavement jumps out at you..yesterday on the way to work driving along a narrow road and thud...scraped both left hand side rims badly there goes this months overtime...
