Re: Decent alloys
The PCD is correct, but you'll need to check a few things to determine if they'd fit. Check with the seller on the following: - wheel centre bore - wheel offset - wheel width The Polo has the following: - centre bore 57.1mm - offset I think 38-43mm stock - wheel width 6-7.5 inches Judging by what's ...

Re: Decent alloys
I just googled UK used wheels and it looks like there are a couple of places that specialise in pre-owned wheels. You might get lucky there, but just look the OEM and branded wheels. Even try gumtree. My age might show now, but I recall Demon Tweeks from my days in the 90s reading the likes of FastC...

No, can't help you there. I'm not in the UK unfortunately.sm57ruo wrote:Any sites you’d recommend to buy alloys wheels (used ones) apart from eBay?

I found these quite useful for judging the effect of a different wheel size. Of course it doesn't help when it comes to the weight of a larger wheel.

Re: Decent alloys
Larger wheels (rolling diameter) is going to affect your gearing which in turn affects your acceleration, fuel consumption, handling, etc. Pick a wheel close you the rolling diameter of your current wheels. Look up a plus sizing calculator online. If all you are concerned about is filling the wheel ...

Not familiar with that converter. Got a link?
If it's like any other converter that remote out would be what you need.

Re: Remote Out signal for Hi Low converter and amp
What kind of high-low converter are you using? Some have a remote wire output and sense off the speaker wires. +12V you'll have to run to the battery if it needs a large cable. My pioneer subwoofer only needs 10A so I've got that fused into the factory fuse box. Just bought the repair wire from VW a...

Re: Front Bilstein shock question
Hack jobs hardly ever work out in the long run. Rather just buy a new mount. Yes, it's a ton of work to do over again, but what's the point of running on a known failed/failing part? Look at poly mounts from the likes of Powerflex. That material lasts a bit longer. Transmits a bit more road feel/noi...

Re: 1.2 tsi modifications.
I think you're limited to just a chip tune, the likes of Revo, JB4 piggyback, etc. Maybe get you to 130 with a bit more driveability. That's what I plan on my 110hp 1.2tsi once the motor plan runs out, but that's it. I'm sure you can get much more than 150/160 out of these, but you'd probably spend ...

Re: Steering constantly drifting over to left
Could be tyre pull. Rotate tyres to see if issue resolves or changes the pull. If it does then it's clearly tyres. I have constant pull on my 2017 6C, but the camber is out on the front and the ride height is too high (Cross Polo). Can only fix camber by shifting the subframe. Great design VW. [emoj...

Re: Aftermarket Android Stereo Screen
AliExpress has Android units that will work in the 6R or 6C. Actually so many I just don't know which are good or not. Xtrons has the most OEM look to me, but there have been a number of reports of bad quality and devices not lasting very long. But then you don't really buy one of these expecting a ...

Re: Retrofit ESP Button
Thank you. Just can't seem to find details of that wiring, but I'll keep looking. If the vehicle already had the ESP and TPMS setting features in the media headunit would that still require additional ABS coding changes to work with the switch inputs? I do not wish to enable extra ESP features, simp...

Re: Retrofit ESP Button
Sorry to revive a >1 year old thread, but did you ever manage to get this done? I am contemplating a headunit change in a 2017 Cross Polo (6C) 1.2 TSI 6spd manual with Composition Colour currently installed. Replacing the headunit means I lose 1) ESP toggle, 2) TPMS set, and 3) instrument cluster li...

Re: Polo GTI 6c (AWD)
Well you really need to modify the entire boot floor to fit the rear axle. Then you need to actually mount a new rear axle. Then you need to put in a new gearbox with propshaft to the rear. You need to convince the engine ECU somehow it's AWD. And the ABS/ESP ECU. And then there's the matter of acu...

Re: Front tyre wear on the inside edge
I have 6C Cross Polo. I have tyre wear on the outside edge. The cross has a 15mm lift over the stock suspension, the GTi I think is 10mm drop over standard. The camber is not adjustable as one would expect. I believe it's the suspension ride height difference that's altering the camber. Camber is ad...
