But that's sad, anyone else have a mk3 saloon now? I do see them around but they seem rarer than a G40 these days. I've got one! it's just a 1.3 NZ though & to be fair it's pretty tatty. only paid £200 for it though & I've driven all over the country in it. paulg40 has a saloon with a tune...

wow, those are very cool! I fancied a set of BBS E30s not long after I bought my G40. I saw one set on ebay.de (this is best part of 2 years ago now) & missed out on them & gave up looking for anymore after a few weeks of checking ebay.de I'll look forward to seeing the pics of these on the ...

I was under the impression that the G40 badges were no longer available. Although it could just be the rear badge that's not? Martyn at Vag-Parts would be the best bet I reckon.

why is that a rip off? the tyres that come on them could easily be worth that alone. plus the 13" BBS aren't exactly ten a penny.

I'd say replace the blue temp sender, they're only a tenner from VW & are the first thing to look at with most temperature related problems.

Overheating wont be anything to do with that though. check for airlocks, knackered thermostat, fan not working.

brakes - change the fluid, check the discs & pads for wear & replace if needed. Use VAG discs & just about the best pads are some Raicam ones from Pitstop Developments. Check out the flexi hoses as well, if the rubber looks like it's gone brittle or there's any bubbles in it then replace...

Just remember though people, the hub nut shouldn't be much more than hand tight. Can't fault that guide though.

I assume it's the old "wanger" episode then? very funny but alas it's a myth like the Captain Pugwash stories of Roger the Cabin Boy & Seaman Staines. It never aired anyway.

getting crushed under a car is meant to be one of the most painful, drawn out deaths going. Your best hope is that your head will be smashed into the floor & you'll die fairly quickly, alternatively you could be under there for hours or even days (if for example it's in a garage with the door cl...

Welcome to the forum! When you say you refilled the gearbox oil, did you actually drain all the old stuff out & fill it back up with new stuff? What do you mean when you say there's lot of play in the clutch? It's probably more to do with the clutch cable than the clutch itself, which fortunatel...

I've gone back to IE as well now. I was using the beta version of Firefox for a while which was OK although some websites wouldn't work with it. Upgraded to the full version when it came out & I'm still not too happy with it, it's takes ages to load up & just doesn't seem as stable as IE is....
