6N2 GTI front splitter

Post by jakethesnake »

Anyone know whether the front splitter from the 6N2 GTI would fit a 6N 16V front bumper ?.
I've seen a 16V with what I think was a GTI splitter. Was wondering whether much cutting and drilling etc would be required to get it to fit.

I've wondered about this as well. Sad thing is, I don't know the answer.

I do know that fitting a SEAT splitter requires the cutting of all of the studs, and then screwing it on with a bunch of small screws. It also needs to be trimmed at the edges, but all in all, it's not that hard.

Perhaps the same technique can be used with the Mk5 splitter?

ive got a mk4 reiger lip for my mk5 and im going to have to butcher it to get it to fit as its bout 4" too long and the mounting points are all over the shop, oh and you need top trim the rear edgese too when putting mk4 onto mk5 so i shud imagine that the other way round would require some major work

I took some pictures recently of a black 16V slammed on wide 13's at the GTI festival at Santa Pod. I've just got them developed and noticed the splitter on the car.
If I had noticed it while I was there I would have had a good look underneath !.
I'm hoping I spot it at another show soon.

So the Mk5 is too small then. Never thought of that before.

Looks really nice.

Doesn't appear to fit badly at all. Wonder if he had a hard time...?

I think it's a Vento splitter, a very early (1992-93) model that is.

Schauen sie mal.

Hmm, you could be right there Speedy.

I haven't shelved the idea of the mkV GTi splitter yet. I just waiting to see if I can spot that black car at a show again to have a closer look at.

Maybe it will turn up at the Polo show on 16/17 this month.

I'm very, very curious about that lip.

If you get a chance, ask the guy to find out for sure! It would be a great mod for our Mk4's.

Excellent

I've asked about the Vento splitter, but it's a two piece item. That means it's also about twice as expensive as a SEAT or GTI splitter...

But I love the look, so if that's the one, I may have to bite the bullet (ok, it's not _that_ bad) and get it.

:D
