hi there and welcome
there are 2 different head units fitted to the mk5
gamma (high end electric eject of tape)
beta (lower end [20w perchannel] manual tape relase)
on both there are 2 little slots about 1mmx10mm vertically and you need to push some stout, flat metal (special tools are available through most car related shops) after you have them both in try pulling on the unit, if it doesnt move then move the ends of the metal outwards slightly while pressig the unit into the dash
to pull on the unit i usually jam my little finger into the tape slot and then bend it and pull

im looking at a beta unit now and the slots you need are located
on the left its above RDS and below BAS to the left of the double arrow pointing left
on the right its above scan and below CC to the right of the single arrow facing right

Thats it done, Only thing is now i dont have my constant feed to the memories so i'll have to re-wire it, so it saves my settings. If anyone knows the easyest way of doing this, please let me know.

P.S. Its a Pioneer DEH-7400MP
