30mm or 50mm???? help?

Post by badboypolo »

just ordered spax 30mm springs for £90, but I had a choice of 30mm drop or 50mm drop, I chose 30 now im thinking maybe I should have got the 50?im worried that if spend all this money and get it lowered 30 that its not going to look much different. im also going to get new alloys which will be 15 or 16''. has any1 seen the new dezent type D? they look like the rs4s.

Well before i went ahead with it i heard that for the best combo of ride height and comfort that eibach springs were the best n thats wot ive got.

i notice hell of a difference in acceleration from stand still not as much body movement and as for cornering well its a totally different car n feel now its great

yeah definetly get 50 :D
and they will be fine, and being springs they won't be too uncomfortable...unlike coil-overs

went to the shop and they managed to talk me into sticking with the 30mm drop. said if I got 50mm I would have to change something else which I cant remember what he said. he phoned spax and they recomended that I stick with the 30mm drop cos If i wanted 50mm Id have to by at kit at 300 odd pound! so 30mm it is. im thinking of getting 15'' dezents type d's they look like rs4's, has any1 seen them???? will 30mm bring it down onto 15's?

A 30mm drop will certainly help out in the looks and the handling departments!

he would have been talking about new 'shock absorbers'
they are not absolutely necessary at 40-50mm but any lower then yes you will have to change them.
hence why coil-overs start at around -50mm max
