For those who dont know, My car has been pff the road for a long time due to gearbox troubles (AGAIN!!!).
The gearbox went through the the guy who is fixing it and as soon as he seen it his words were "The clutch is fu**ed as well" apartently he could tell by the smell that the clutch will be burnt out.
He has advised me to get my mate who took the gearbox out to have a look at it.
This is now our 3rd or 4th clutch and had several dodgy gearboxes. So does anyone know if it is possible to get a uprated (racing) clutch.
Its a 1.4 8v. If not i'll just have to stop the wife driving the car, lol

Try sliding the seat back further, or making it hard to put right to the front.
And don't let her drive with the foot on the clutch. Failure of multiple gearboxes has to be driver related.
The VAG clutch smells very bad, not like the older epoxy (asbestos) smell, these smell more like tuffnol (fish and carpet) - sorry its difficult to describe a smell.
