went to the scrappy and spent 40 quid on this lot:
rear lights (to be tinted, including bulbs and holders)
front bumper (to replace my one with a whole in it )
speaker grills x4 (to replace my stained ones)
gear stick and gaitor (never had an original one wen i gt the car)
front splitter (mine is cracked)
door pins and surrounds for them (were missing b4)
glove box lock (one of the pins broke on mine)
wiring loom plastic holder 4 the door to the chassis-(broke mine)
full set of fuses (just in case)
carpet fasteners for the boot (lost a few)
plastic part to hold the grille on the bttom clips to bumper(never had one)
blank switches (for an LED)
original screw (replace any non stndrd vw one)
bonnet gromet (so there original ones)
Well the little bits like fuses and blank switches fit nicely into pockets but a bumper is a bit more cumbersome
At my local scrappy you tend to have to agree a price before going in and digging about in the wrecks, but they're usually really good value, and especially when you came away with a haul like that for just £40
WOW... amazing amount of stuff you can get for 40quid in the scrappy over there... In norway you would get rear lights (to be tinted, including bulbs and holders) without the bulbs, and bulb holders. and the front bumper would for sure be 80-100 quid alone. nice deal man!
Never ever seen a MKIV in any scrappy near me but want a 1.4 8V AEX engine code ECU if anyone ever spots one during their brousing - I'll pay a fair price for it - not daft money tho!!! (say £40 max)
