I seem to remember reading a how-to on uk-mkivs a few months back - from what I vaguely recall, this could be done without taking the door apart.hoping I don't have to go too far removing the door panels
the pin had a D-shaped shaft, so you just wound the window down, grabbed the etg pin, rotated through 180 and removed - opposite to fit. I think there were warnings about the new pins being quite soft and easy to damage. unfortunately i'm a bit busy today, otherwise i'd dig the link out for you - i'll look later.

Well, paid £3.90 for mine (5% discount from ouir generous Skoda dealership...) today after a few minutes thought I finally figured out how to get them off (you turn the pin 90 degrees on the 9n).
They are a little bit longer than the standard pin, but it's hardly a 'problem' as its exactly the same height as the Skoda Superb
