bought some new mountain bike wheels

It's been a couple of years since I rode my bike due to having some really buckled wheels... I own an old Cannondale M600 which was pretty hot back in the day (I bought it in about 1993....) and thought it was about time that I got me some new rims and took the old girl for a ride!!
Went to a couple of local bike shops and basically these were the only rims that any of them had in stock that day! I used to be really into my mountain biking but when I passed my driving test the bikes kinda took a back seat. I have never heard of wheels before, but they looked pretty funky and meant I didnt have to order any in...

I never really was all that happy with the Cannondale after my previous bike got stolen (a '92 Kona Lavadome with a 14.5in frame) but took it out today at a local Royal park and didnt realise what a difference good wheels with decent hubs make!!

So I ended up with a pair of 26in Rolf Dolomites...

The fcukers weren't cheap, but for some reason the bloke in the shop decided he wanted to sell them to me for Â£230 instead of the ticket price of.....

Once I've given the 'dale a lil clean up, I'll post up some pics of it with my new wheels!!

So anyone else on here ride? What sort of riding you into? What bikes do you ride??

I've got a 1998 KHS Nomad Hardtail Mountain Bike with some retro-fitted front shocks, clipless pedals and an ergonomic seat (to stop ball ache!)

I only do easy trails cos I'm a lard-ass. I don't like riding on the road as there are too many nutters driving around with no respect for cyclists.

I need to get out on it... infact you've inspired me to get out on it this evening... see ya in a bit!

Not really into mountain bikes - but i got a sorted Ruption GLX bmx!

Mag wheels - 3 piece crank - beefed up brakes - alloy pedals - Hoffman jumping bars and loads of other stuff i can't remember.

Haven't rode it for about a year though!

Yep I ride bikes.

You may notice that my username is in fact a Kona bike !.

I'm currently riding my trusty old Orange Clockwork complete with Kona P2 rigid forks.
I have a Kona Fire Mountain which is currently stripped to just a frame.
I also have an Orange Gringo which is in part assembled state with Marzochi forks.
I also have a road bike.
I will soon be getting an On-One single speed frame to build up. Also the Clockwork is likely to be upgraded to possibly an On-One titanium frame and Pace RC31 forks.

Nice wheels you've bought yourself there !.

I haven't had a bike in years.

My last one was so bad, we left it in front of the house (on a busy street) and no-one would take it! It just stood there without a lock for days. I mean, come on, it couldn't really be that bad, now could it?

This was in a 'affordable' area of Rotterdam, by the way...

ok i know im late on the band waggon but just to add my 2 cents i use mavic D521 downhilling rims on my moutnatin bike heres a very quick spec

and some other bits and bobs but she needs stripping and completly rebuilding because i havnt ridden her in about a year but i used to be quite serious abut riding and entered a couple of races and used to ride with the Stiff MTB team
