Hi all,

I bought a POLO GTI a month ago, this baby starting problems,
first the diode of the cooling fan jamed, so it won't starts and causing overheat.

but it's been fixed temperley, hope it won't jam againg.

Also, I found a little bit strange of the gear box/clutch,
and the 1st/2nd gear on low rmp's. It run sluggish during
1500 to 2200 rmp in constant.Well, maybe somthing to do with my
Denso IK20 sparks.

I was trying to adjust the free pay for the clutch pedal,
but wondering which part should I adjust?
the pedal side or the gear box side?

I've check the air filter also, there are many enging oil
came off from the engine breath hose, I think I should
probably install a oil catch tank. But the down side is
there might be too dry for the throttle body.
What you guys/girls think?

Cheers
George

Hi,

I was reading here since the second day I got my POLO,
but this is the first one I post.

I just got the front lights clean up, now they are shine as new.
also I've change the blubs of the fog lam and LED marker lights as well.
Now it looks more trendy.

If you want to try the stock shocks, you may call me to arrange it
this sunday.

Cheers

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Try putting standard VW (Bosch) spark plugs into your engine.

My GTi hated having Iridium spark plugs... As soon as I put the original plugs back in, it was back to normal!

Thanks Josh, I'll try to put them back tomorrow see if that go away,

I found another problem of my Baby,
It has worn out ball joint of the left steering rack.
and I found the front wheels has too much toe-out also.
I think that should causes by that joint.

Well, this baby has a loads of problem, but I still love it.

BTW, I've adjusted the clutch free pay tody, it has one adjuster
at the gear box side only, and there's no another adjuster at the
pedal side. it was an easy job.

Hi George,

This is Ric, I am also from HK as well...

Do you have a 2 dr or 4 dr? what color is yours?

Mine is a 2dr silver one

I just had my fan replace 2 days ago... did all the polo replace their fan within the last week or so? hahahaha

Anyways, the oil above the TB shouldn't be a big problem, just clean more often, I don't think the oil catch tank will help much.

For your toe-out problem, just get your ball joint replace, and go get an alignment done, I just had my alignment done for HKD300, I get alignment done all the time, because my car is pretty low, and I set my chamber at -3 in the front

Anyways, good luck with your polo, feel free to PM me if you want to know more about my polo...

Great,

We found each other in UK :D

My POLO is 4dr Silver, all stock, well mostly.
we're all silver?

The previous owner told me that the car had the
radiator fan changed during warrenty.
Means they won't last long.

But I got a source from main land china, they have that
for HKD$500 only  But need to confirm.

Just replaced the Beru Ultra-X spark plugs today,
feeling good, the low end torque seems raise a bit.

We should meet somethime.
