Ive had enough of paying too much insurance!!
Hi all,
Ive pretty much had enough of paying stupid prices for insurance on my 6n2 SDI polo. Just because its a 1.9 Diesel the insurance company bump the price up even though its not a turbo!! The same polo but maybe a 1.2 will be 300 quid less. How does this work when my car is only 64 bhp????!!!!!! It not exactly fast enough to bump the price up even though the engine is bigger.
Im considering changing the car ASAP, maybe another polo??? 1.2 springs to mind. Whats everyones views on the 1.2 or 1.4 9n Polo? I really want another diesel though, but Im not prepared to be ripped off.
I was also considering leaving VW and getting a Corsa or maybe a 206. I really don't want to, but its not about being ripped off by insurance companies.
Really don't know what to do, any advice would help??
cheers

Bit of a long story, mine and my mums policies where both due for updating so rather then her using her no claims on her car she just got a policy using no noclaims... I used her no claims on my policy with her as main driver and me as aditional driver. We did this last year so her own policy now has 1 years no claims built up again.
Everyone says yeah but when you get your own policy it will be loads, but why do i need to, her other policy is building up no claims nicely! So in 3 years we will have 2 policies with full no claims!
Sorted!
PS Im with privalage, they are excellent!

im 18 with nearly two yrs ncb (one year from bike which norwich union carried over) on a 52reg 9n polo 1.4 tdi and i pay £880 fully comp in my name.
By the way guys n gals do you realise having someone else (ie mum) as the main driver and you as additional, when you are the main driver is insurance fraud?
Unless the main driver use's more than you its ok but if the main driver doesn't use the car often or at all then you are commiting insurance fraud and therefore can make your policy invalid.

What im saying is that it can still invalidate your policy if they were to find out as you are breaking your insurance policy terms of being the main driver when your not down as the main driver. But its up to you and i'm just stating the point.polosilver wrote:Its NOT illegal at all, its just not proper... i can face being not proper to save £1000 thanks...
