Well, picture this...PoloCornwall wrote:i know loads about minis etc, and used to work in a garage, but i dont really know fcuk all about v dubs, so excuse the idiotic question, but the g40 is quick? or same as 16v i was on group 10 insurance with that
A Mark3 Polo, weighing in at 830kgs with a 1.3 Supercharged engine putting out 113bhp and 113Ibs of torque. It should be quicker than the 16V, weighing in less, and being blessed with slightly more power (the 16V having 100bhp). Expect figures between 7.3-8.1 to 60, and potential for up to 210bhp (but that will require some more wedge
Karl.
g40 = 1.3 supercharged!
what can be better?
they are a great little car, i don't no how quick compared to a 16v polo however they are known as gti beaters!
sorry to hear about the loss of the car! but most of all, u and ur friend were ok! a friend of mine has just written off his cozzie! we was taking a guy who was gonna buy it today for a spin, the bottom ball joint snapped and he crashed!
was a lovely car! had an agreed value of 12k!

plus the fact it has distictly more lower-midrange torque grunt than a valver, should help with acceleration quite a bit.... delivering as many smiles per mile with less gearchanging (the lower weight doesnt hurt either)
stripping it out i'd wager is easier than a valver and more rewarding as you're removing proportionally more of the car's mass.
its not just the insurance thats a bugger though is it - you've got to have the charger checked out to make sure they're not selling it to avoid the cost of a burgeoning rebuild etc...

They ahve a few for sale at the moment, and the guys there will be more than willing to help you out with a buyers guide if you seriously want one...
Theres also ebay, but when buying a G from there, you need to know what questions to ask to stop you from buying a potential dog.
