CLUNK into gear

Post by polokris »

came from work earlia, 9 hour shift jus gone by....

started the car with the clutch in as normal, put her into reverse, and it went in fine as usuall.... but as i eased the clutch out sooooo slowly (like usuall) it CLUNKED into gear as if i had jus "dropped" the clutch!!! but it drove fine once it "clunked". it then clunked a little puttin it into first, wen lettin off the clutch, but then was fine?

its done it a few times, but not that violent, i s**t my self to be fair!

so sumone PLEASE point me in the right direction!

mine used to do that in winter... i think it was a sticky cable / spring mechanism or something after being sat overnight. learnt to ignore it in the end and just let it out e-v-e-r so gently after it had been sat more than 12 hours.

thinking about it, just giving the pedal a couple of quick up-down pumps before you start it would probably do just as well?
