I have a Polo 6n2, looking to purchase a new stereo, how would i remove the current one?

You need to go to some where like halfords and buy some release keys.

There are two slot on either side of the headunit, you can purchase keys, or do what I did and cut up a credit card into two strips the same height as the slots - the place them in to disengage the locks, then slide it out :D

another option would be your local dealer, who may loan you the keys/take it out for you for free there and then

no look for 2 slots vertically placed 1.5-2mmx10mm

nothing to pry off, two slots near the directional control buttons either side, towards the bottom. The arrows point at them hehe :lol:

just pop down to ya local vw and ask them to pop it out for ya...they shouldnt charge ya for it

halfords are useless they couldnt help me at all! more than likely to ruin ya dash then help ya

i manageed to do it using the ingenious credit card idea, wohooooo!! no more tape for me :D

Of the 6 cd players ive had , ive managed to get it out by putting 2 butter knifes down each side to pop it out !!! Even the vw one :|
