What Head unit wire is this?!?!?

Hello this is my first post and am having some trouble finding out what a ISO wire is on my 96 Nreg POLO 1.4 … the colour of the wire is red and brown and when I first tested it, it seemed as a permanent live however now its dead so I have no idea what its for :? … can some one help me as am finding this confusing :( ….

Mate, check the fuse.
If you didnt remove the fuse before you started messing with the wires, its possable you may have shorted it, causeing the fuse to blow.

I do this all the time.
Have a bag of 50 fuses from work in the back.
Just for occations like this ;)


Cant help you with the colours though mate, Ive never owned a Polo before, so I'll leave it for someone in the know ;)

Yeah cheers for that.... Silly me didn’t think of changing the fuse :oops:
Still want to know what this wire is for people so any help would be great :!: :D

Is it brown, with a red stripe?

I recon you are correct with your thinking and it is +12 Volt Ignition Wire
