They're cheap, but that's about it, don't try claiming off them.

My accident was a 6 month battle, which even after I had been promised the cost of repairing my car was difficult. I had to fight for my money, and I was insured fully comp.

"We're waiting for the other insurers to pay us so we can pay you"

Oh great, so my car is outside with the accident damage rusting away and you, the multi-million pound company can't afford to pay up £500 to a poor student to repair his daily driver while you wait for another multi-million pound company to give you the cash.

FFS not good enough really is it!

I had a non fault accident, regardless of blame however I was entitled to the full amount as I had a fully comp policy with them.

Having spent 6 months speaking to brainless automatons and dealing with a dodgy solicitor that they supplied me with, being bounced around on their switchboard and only getting anywhere when I demanded to speak to their MD qualifies me to make the following statement.

They are useless.

Not that much of the above rant applies if you're tpft, as they'll just delay the third party getting their money.

should have said you were injured!

after i had that run in with the scooter guy, they must have classed it as a hit'n'run with me as the victim as they wasted no time in sending the ambulance chasers round - if id had any idea who he actually was, and had an evil heart, id be rolling in it by now :D

Now you come to mention it mate, I'm sure it said 40mm on the box.

Seriously, I think that's what I'm gonna have to do just to open a few more options up to myself.

Mind you I'm 475 and with 300 years NCB (hopefully I'll get me excess back from the rather drunken man who hit me before renewal is due)

Bit I am interested in is a policy where I can insure several cars on one policy - that would save me a packet
:-D

I rang Brentacre this year..guy on the phone said as long as my mods didn't make the car over 100bhp (wonder if thats actually at the wheels lol) i could do anything i wanted, plus body mods didn't touch the policy either.
The only reason i didn't go with them this year is because they wanted 35% of the policy upfront.

By the way...

I'm 21, and my first car in the next couple of weeks will be a GT mk3 coupe, I got quoted £859 TPFT... IS that any good?

My friend who's 19 is paying £1200 for a 1.4 Clio RT!
