dunno, look at the power a 999cc Yaris kicks out (70hp) or the latest of the 699cc Smart coupe/roadster engines (similar). that's conventional 1.4 or even 1.6 territory (discounting the 1275 punto / 1272 polo gt with 75hp apiece etc lol :))

never mind the GTi you should see the needle plummet in the 'tray when i give it full boot... you'd swear it was putting out three times the power its actually got (or that you can feel). Damn! :D

Going by the difference on the guage, I think I used a good couple gallons tear-arsing* the 10 miles into work when i overslept a bit yesterday... lol... oh to be back in the 1.0 where 29.5mpg meant you had caned the very underpants from it's backside

* never mind tearing your arse, i nearly brown trousered (and blood-upholstered) when the grip started giving out on the overpass and tunnel corners... talk about "no feedback or warning at all"

When I set fire to the car last year I was expecting it to get wrote off.
I wouldnt have been able to bring myself into buying another Loop so took one of these for a days test drive.
What a car.
Best handleing car Ive ever drivn.
So well ballanced its just pure flat out driving.
One of our members has a Bradbus (sp?) roadster.
These are proppa monsters.
£18k though!!

101bhp @ 5250rpm and 130Nm torque form 2500-4500rpm all from a 698 cc
kerb weight of 852kg gives 119bhp/ton and a more impressive 153Nm/ton torque.

0-60 would be about 2 seconds quicker if it wasn't for the silly gearbox!

Nice vid Here 20mg

the general road-tester consensus is that it would have been FAR better with a proper superbike sequential shift (or even a regular H-gate) than the smart coupe semi-auto job ... which, after all, was made for super smooth city shifting, not high speed twitch-shifts.

considering how low, small and light it is, even a 1043 would see that thing scampering off like a singed terrier. 100 horses puts it into oldskool Lotus Elan kind of maths - in fact its more like a boil washed Elise (if such a thing is possible - i half imagine the result would be nothing more than very slightly dirty water and a faint whiff of carbon dust).

would very much like one (looks the business too - used to be one parked outside the hospital station every day, damn but it was nice even in factory spec).....

lol but how crap were the tyres and how wet/oily the road? :D :D
i've had 2nd gear burnouts on greasy junctions a few times ;)

what ive just noticed and am wondering..... how can a tiny 2 seat roadster, made seemingly from coke bottle plastic, with that engine, still weigh as much as a mk2 polo?
