Insurance, how much is yours?
I just got a quote for TPFT on my forthcoming MK3 GT Coupe:
£630.30
So, what's yours?

I've just got my renewal notice thru this morning from Direct Line. I'm 24, 6yrs NCB (protected), parked on a driveway, the policy is FC in my name and it's £462 including legal cover (£18 ), named driver (my Mum, £30) and the aforementioned protected NCB (£65). Its only about £30-40 cheaper than my renewal quote 12 months ago, so I might shop around and see if I can knock anything off the bill. No modifications until I'm 25 unless I change insurers.
On the plus side, Direct Line have been superb when it comes down to making a claim, no troubles there at all

just to show you all how bad a postcode birmingham is:
I was paying a grand on my modded 1.6 golf when I moved to Brum in 2001, (23 years old), but when I came to renew it:
1.6 golf, 24 with 1 years no claims, cosmetic mods, fully comp: 1500!!
so I swapped it for a megane which reduced it to about 950, then:
1.0L mk4 Polo, 25 with 2 years no claims, no mods, fully comp: 500
1.4 16v mk4 Polo, 26 with 3 years no claims, fully comp, cosmetic mods: 900!! however, adrian flux were HALF of all other companies (including direct line and so on) so:
1.4 16V mk4 Polo, 26 with full no claims (gave me extra), fully comp, cosmetic mods: 380
thankyou, adrian flux!
(it's garaged)
I can't believe most companies wanted a grand to insure a 26 year old driver with 3 years no claims on a frickin 16v

if you want cheap insurance........ move to northwest wales. the premiums are rock bottom in comparison to the midlands
or the wilds of the rural bit of northamptonshire (not the towns, dear lord...)
diesels ive found put the premiums up rather than lower them! thats why i had to steer clear of all TDi (or even SDi / vanilla D) goodness on my last car change. amazing i could even afford a 1.6 petrol round here, but if i cant get the renewal quote down then it may well have to go as well - seven hundred quid at 23, with 3 years NCB? pfft. thats crap that is.
