Hi there!
Welcome to the forum!
When installing an amplifier in the back of a car, it is essential to use nice thick cable direct from the battery. The cable that VW put in for a cigar lighter in the trunk (boot) is quite thin and would not like having a lot of current (amps) being drawn down it.
It is not a very hard job to bring a power cable through the car, but if you have never done it before, or are not sure how to, get a qualified auto electrician to do it for you (or a friend who you trust!)
You wouldn't want your car to burn down!
Hope this information helps?
